I am selling health insurance these days during the medicare annual enrollment period that ends Sunday, So today I started off doing an exercise recommended by Bob Proctor, I hand wrote out word for word the chapter on serenity in the back of the book as a man thinketh then at work I took down all the performance awards around my desk telling myself, dude you cant stand on old kudos, today is now, so get into it all the motivational thoughts and all the dreambuilder related things that surround my workstation except my mission and vision statement and the it all worked out thing I did with the eagle.. Then I just focused on my vision statement and let myself get back into the emotion that it generates in me to read it. Then I started answering the phones. It came fast and furious all day long. At the end of the day I had set a new personal best 7 enrollments in 11 calls. Understand that the company has been gradually raising the bar on expectation in what they call the conversion ration of calls to enrollments. Their goal is now up to 30%. I smashed it to pieces. My numbers for today were 63%. I found myself just letting go and talking to people about their health and well being and recommending things to them like, well have you watched the secret? what have you tried so far? I thought almost everyone had seen the secret but to my surprise she said no. So without pushing it too far (whatever that is) on the company recorded calls, I stayed on task and helped people sort thru all the complexities of medicare advantage plans and did my best to make it as simple an understandable what the really relevant options are for any one person. I just focused on visualizing people finding their own answers and insights and been happy and well. At the end of the day the last caller who enrolled was recorded saying this on the phone, you are a great agent, they should have you training other agents lol :)
