I am sending out a special THANK YOU to Dr. Morgan (Family practice physician) for being so kind to stop and help me rescue a baby duck that had fallen down a storm drain. I was driving to ARF this morning when I spotted a Momma Duck and 1 baby next to a storm drain grate. I pulled a Starsky and Hutch move with the truck to block oncoming traffic so they would not be hit. I looked down into the drain and saw a little duck baby that had fallen inside peeping up at me. I was trying to lasso it with a dog leash when Dr. Morgan appeared. He helped me move the grate(very, very heavy!) so I could climb down inside. The baby ran into the drain for a few minutes then came back out after hearing its mommy quacking. We blocked the opening to the drain with a bag of birdseed and were then able to lift the little love up and out of the drain!!! It scurried right to its Momma along with its sibling!! They headed to a safe, grassy area!! I have never been in a sewer/drain ditch before but I must say it was worth it!!!! Thanks again to Dr. Morgan, I could not have done it without your help!!! There is still a lot of goodness in this world!!! Thanks again, Terri
