I am sharing this from FB this morning. A few thoughts: First of all, the narration and black and white..made me feel ancient! I was 12 1/2. I remember it well, but I didnt remember that it was at Christmas time. We always went to my Grandparents home in Rio Dell, so it must have been a sad Christmas for our family. After weeks of isolation we were finally able to take Blue Slide Road through Ferndale to see them. Took an hour drive. I also remember those over loaded logging trucks and was always scared that they would topple over on us when we were on the Hi-way. Also, it should be a reminder that the drought wont last forever..but hopefully we wont have another flood of this magnitude. Still praying for a rainy winter. Let it pour!
