I am sharing this... highly questionable... video for one reason: It provides a 100% exact and accurate analogy to recent incidents in which Christian business owners were sued or otherwise punished for refusing to facilitate gay weddings. In this video, a man wearing a KKK uniform attempts to buy lighters from a black business owner. The business owner refuses. He refuses to sell the lighters because he believes that they will be used in a KKK cross burning. He regards this ceremony as evil, and he does not want to facilitate an evil ceremony by selling items that will be used in it. Is the business owner within his rights to refuse to sell a product because he believes that that product will be put to a use he considers evil? I say yes. Absolutely. But this is exactly identical to a situation where a gay couple orders a wedding cake from a Christian baker. The Christian business owner regards a gay wedding as an evil ceremony. He refuses to sell the cake because he believes that doing so will facilitate an activity he regards as evil. Note this: In neither case is the business owner refusing to sell because of *who* is buying the product. The business owner in this video does not refuse to sell a lighter because the customer is white, or even because the customer belongs to the KKK. He refuses to sell *because of how the lighter will be used.* In just the same way, the Christian baker is not refusing to sell a cake because the customer is gay. He refuses to sell because of *how the cake will be used.* If I can refuse to sell a lighter because I dont want to facilitate the ceremony in which the lighter will be used, why cant I refuse to sell a cake because I dont want to facilitate the ceremony in which the cake will be used? The identical principle applies to both cases.
