I am sharing this story at the request of Sarah T. who wants to convey to people to never give up looking for your lost pet. Sometimes things just fall into place, and even though her kitty, Jake had been missing since around Thanksgiving, he is now safe, warm, fed, and no doubt relieved more than words could express. What a great way to start out the new year. My first task of 2015 was to answer an email this morning from Ashley who had gone into her garage for something and found a gray, Russian blue colored male cat. She emailed Cats Cradle asking for advice. I asked her to contact the pound to find out if anyone was looking for him. She said he may have been in the garage for awhile since she doesnt go in there very often, and he was thin, very thin. I asked her what her location was and to email a photo of him to me, and when she did....Something about him looked familiar. There was something about his ears that just hit me. You see, I dont sleep much and I often peruse the lost and found ads late at night to pass the time. When I went to check CRs lost and found ads, there was nothing, but I knew I had seen this cat before, so I checked the Pets section and sure enough...there was the ad I had seen a few times...Lost cat, has medical condition, needs special food, and he was lost in the vicinity of 21st and 7th. I called Ashley and told her, dont call the pound yet, I think I might know where he belongs. I made a call to the number on the ad and got no answer, so I texted I think we may have located your missing cat. Sarah replied immediately, so excited, and asked for a picture. I sent it to her and then called her on the phone, she was so excited and relieved and could t believe he was found. Long story short, I gave her Ashleys phone number to make arrangements to get her boy back, and they are now reunited, starting 2015 out with lots of hugs and kisses, and all is well with the world. Sarah has informed me that she will be in tomorrow with a donation and she will also be sending Ashley a nice gift card to Petco and a photo of Jake back homework his mommy who loves him so very much. Congratulations Sarah and Jake on your reunion, and THANK YOU Ashley for taking steps to help this lost boy. Here is a post from Sarahs page: ITS A MIRACLE! Thats what the lady said who found my missing (and most beloved) kitty, Jake who has been missing almost a MONTH!! She said he was in the loft above her garage which NEVER gets used but last night she went to find a book from storage randomly and noticed the litter box (which theyd previously had from fostering a kitty) was used and she turned her head into a cubby space and saw him sitting on a cushion! JAKE LOVES SITTING ON CUSHIONS!! He is soooo skinny but thankfully she had extra kitty food from fostering, so Jake was able to eat some during his time hiding there from the cold, though no one knows how long thats been there since they cant remember last time the garage was opened. We never gave up hope and we praise God for bringing Jake home! The lady refused a reward and said being able to reunite us was enough, but asked that we give any reward money to Cats Cradle who helped them make the connection, which we certainly will do!! What a great start to 2015.
