I am shocked and deeply saddened by the death of Prof. Fouad Ajami. Fouad had a singular influence on my life and worldview. I did not always agree with him, especially not in the period of the Arab Spring, but I never ceased revering his intellect and courage. He was a one-man hope for sane, and even compassionate relations between Jews and Muslims, America and the Middle East, and Arabs with each other. May his memory be blessed forever. אני מופתע וכאוב מפטירתו של פרופ. פואד עגמי. לפואד הייתה השפעה ייחודית על חיי ועל השקפת עולמי. לא תמיד הסכמנו זה עם זה, במיוחד לא בתקופת האביב הערבי, אך מעולם לא חדלתי להוקיר את חוכמתו ואומץ ליבו. הוא גילם תקווה למערכת יחסים שפוייה ואף אמפתית בין יהודים ומוסלמים, ארהב והמזרח התיכון, ובתוך העולם הערבי. יהי זכרו ברוך
