I am sitting here in this big empty house on my last night in Bangor, ME feeling pretty melancholy. It’s such a bittersweet feeling, in every sense of the word. I am pumped about this upcoming opportunity in TN, to be sure, and I expect the next chapter in the Medeiros Clan Saga will be just as epic as all the ones the Good Lord has written before it. However, tonight I am a bit shaken emotionally after spending two weeks saying goodbye to all the special people who have so dearly touched my life here. Three years is far too short a time to spend among such wonderful folks. My brothers and sisters on the staff at Navy Operational Support Center Bangor Maine, my beloved SELRES, and my FAMILY at Hope Lutheran Church - Bangor ME have blessed my life in ways unimaginable. I am a better person for knowing all of you. Maine is such a beautiful place. I’ll miss taking long drives through the state, marveling at God’s handiwork…Route 1 on the shore, Baxter State Park/Katahdin, Camden at Christmastime, Mt. Desert Island/Bar Harbor, Great Pond, and on and on. I am a blessed man, far beyond what I deserve. My heart is full. Hang tight Mrs. Jennifer Medeiros, my lovely, because I am coming to join you and the kiddos very soon for what will be the next Great Adventure….
