I am sitting here trying to get ready for bed, and watching friends prepare to say goodbye to lovers, and sons say goodbye to mothers. I am seeing families torn apart by sickness and countries be torn apart by politics. I am sick to death of angry posts about bad drivers and first world problems, failed air conditioners and no bean sprouts at the grocery store. Im just as guilty as all of you. Im torn between loving social media for bringing us together in times where we need each other, and times when we just need to share our anger at all the things we think we deserve but arent getting. Im having a really hard time accepting that the world is spinning for so many people, and we are busy scrolling and scrolling through a senseless newsfeed of blown-up stories and viral videos when we could be doing something about the things we are too busy liking and sharing to do anything to change things (I admit Im busy creating more of it while I write this). Im just angry thinking of all the days I spent posting statuses like this when I could have been visiting my Dad at the hospital, or friends who Ill never see again. Im upset that this world is more focused on being liked than being lived.
