I am sitting on my couch, sick, watching the new HBO Seduced and Abandoned. A wonderful doc. by Alec Baldwin and James Toback about their attempts to raise money for a film they want to make. It also encompasses the modern day movie business as a whole and the struggles that all filmmakers go through to get the money to make their dreams come to life. Its inspiring to hear some of the same frustrations from giants like these two and others that are interviewed in the film and to know Ive dealt with some of the same ridiculousness in my own right and work. doing whatever it takes to get the thing done. Hearing stories from Alec complain because he said, perhaps instead of maybe was hilarious and made me think of my own stories of actually having a script supervisor complain out loud, because I said, theyre instead of they are. Definitely was a struggle getting through that long shoot... Check it out if you have HBO. Entertaining and informative.
