I am sitting on the porch at almost midnight thinking about all the years of Easter past. So many filled with Easter baskets, hunting eggs when Kayla and Micah was little. Buying the perfect Easter attire for them. But one day it all changed God added to our family of 3 and gave us Stephen! Then we begin to see we put to much into the egg hunting and baskets and not giving enough to our children the true meaning of why we celebrate Easter. So we backed off the egg hunts, Easter baskets no longer had bunnies, we started making the baskets filled with about the real meaning of Easter. Savannah Faith came along and the Easter bunny was never taught to her at all. Please dont misunderstand me, I dont nor would I judge you for choosing your way to celebrate. We chose by our hearts desire of giving our children more of the real Easter celebration. I miss those days, of pretty dresses, hair bows, suits and ties. Easter baskets filled with candy and a chocolate cross. My beautiful daughter Kayla all grown and married not needing mom to go pick out her Easter dress any more, Micah is in Mississippi with his fiancé and her family to go to church with them. Savannah is wearing the perfect pink dress for Jesus tomorrow. Probably doing one of her dramas Sis. Audrey Taylor taught her for worship in Heaven tomorrow. Its selfish but sometimes I just want things to be the way they was when they needed momma to make everything perfect for them. I guess though I will have to pick Stephens outfit out of closet tomorrow morning, I see pink in his future! Lol Ive been so blessed with a wonderful family and I love them all so much. Each of them has played such a special part of my life each of them without the other Id would be incomplete. We have had our share of differences, we argue, we fight, but at the end of the day we love each other. We know that we will always be there for each other. I hope my husband and my kids know that just when like Jesus went after the one little lost sheep, this momma and wife would do the same for them. So tonight as I reflect on the past I see the present: my children in church on Easter Sunday and worshipping their Savior! I see how truly blessed my past, my present and my future Easters have, are and always will be!:)
