I am so angry at the VA home , they allowed my adopted grandfather to have gangreene on his foot, when he is suppose to be checked often for diabetic neropathy. On top of that, he was taken to the psych ward at loma linda hospital because he was screaming for nurses to please help him when he was having low blood sugar.. i had to hear it all from him last night at 2 am frantically calling me. When I called this morning in between tests at school, The nurse had the ordacity to blame him for not noticing a cut at the bottom of his foot and that he should have gotten out of bed for them to test his blood sugar and walk down the corridor to get his lunch.... Neropathy mean he has no feeling! how would he know if he cut his foot! and if he was told to stay in bed, why would he get out of bed for his meals??? How is it a man who served in 2 wars get second rate care? I am appalled at the negligence.my weekend went from a getaway with matt spending time between the va home to going to spend 2 hours a day for visiting hours at the hospital.. ugh!!!!
