I am so blessed to know this amazing, beautiful, smart and talented young woman, Ms. Téa Drift. Late last summer I was asked to drive out to the Nett Lake community of the Bois Forte Ojibwe Nation with my camera Bruce Willis to talk with In Progress tribal youth who were active in a photographer/videographer project on the reservation. What I didnt know when I got there was that Tea Drift wanted to interview me about my photography. So she interviewed me and we, along with the other program youth, got to do a photo shoot together at several different locations in Nett Lake. This was a beautiful and remarkable time. Tea created, directed, and produced this video from that day. I am honored and inspired by her work and by her passion for her people, her love for dancing, her commitment to traditions, and her art form. Chi miigwech Tea for making me one of the happiest people on earth. I cried happy tears when I watched this. Miigwech to Kristine Sorensen and the In Progress group for working with our youth throughout various cultural communities and teaching/inspiring them to teach and inspire others - to give back.
