I am so conflicted in posting this thismorning, but feel like I have been forced to do so. I received a number of calls thismorning from friends and family that they had read someones post on my page that my dad had died. PLEASE PEOPLE, BE VERY CAREFUL WHAT YOU POST ON FACEBOOK!! This person in her condolences also said my dad was a true gentleman. To understand how much damage this post created, you need to understand peoples situations. My dad is definitely NOT a gentleman, he was an abuser! This post forced me to confront a barrage of emotions that I have buried over the past twenty years and also being a sufferer of depression is making this even harder to deal with! I have since learned this post was a mistake and my dad is still alive, which for me after the realisation that my torturer was gone forever, that he now in fact is alive which is very much a feeling of entrapment. Facebook is a great social tool, but please think twice of the implications of using it incorrectly! RANT OVER
