I am so disappointed by this metaphorical character assassination - TopicsExpress

I am so disappointed by this metaphorical character assassination of Jameis Winston. He is a breathe of fresh air when one considers the conceit that runs rampant in high profile sports. Although articulate is a word I rarely use to describe educated people, it is apropos for a man so young. I am encouraged that the larger society is offended by what appears to be an attempt to defame the young man. I find it refreshing that the community is in an uproar over any attempts by the media to rush to judgment in the matter. Like most of you, I think that this thing will blow over, because if it had merit, it would have more than likely concluded by now. Certainly, we would not want to diminish his very much deserved standing in the Heisman Race and his chances at a National Title. He strikes me as an amiable and decent fella. Still, Chuck, I cant help but wonder where were these same apologists when Trayvon Martin was lynched and his murderer was set free. Benjamin, maybe if Trayvon wore a helmet and ran a football up and down the field then maybe his character, in fact his life would have had the same value for the larger society and the larger society would decry his genuine assassination!! Thank God Jesus loves us all the same! (Drops mic and walks off, mumbling under my breathe)
