I am so disappointed to see some of my Facebook friends aggressively criticising the #iwanttotouchadog campaign. How can you say that the campaign is unnecessary when too many Muslims are going crazy and posting hate comments about dogs and the idea of touching dogs to begin with. Judging from the level of discomfort and disgust shown by some Muslims right now, I think this campaign is exactly what we need, or else, even when we see a sick dog, we will never help him because its such a taboo to touch this furry little thing as required by our religion. People dont organise campaigns just for fun, but because there are certain issues that need to be addressed. This time, it is our hostile attitude towards dogs that triggered this effort so lets do something about that.
