I am so freaking furious, disappointed, humiliated, mad, sad, angry, upset, disgusted - so I am speechless. Tonight the Korean adoptees got peed on and were asked to go to Hell once again by a Korean professor, and the Ministry of Justice. I was 4 months old when I was exported and sold from Korea, an innocent baby. Still, the Korean government thinks that I am so dangerous that I should NOT be allowed to access my own birth registration. There is a new suggestion to more or less totally block the birth registration for intercountry Korean adoptees. Why? Because way too many Korean men refuse to marry a Korean woman if she has had a child out of wedlock and because way too many employers refuse to hire a single/unwedded mom. So in order to protect the misogynist attitude and the discrimination of childrens rights - the adoptees should not be allowed to access our birth registration because if we come back and search for our mom - we might destroy her life. In reality, its about that the Korean MEN do not want to change their totally backward attitude, and that MPAK, the Babybox church, the adoption agencies etc want secret, closed adoptions. I was not only sold, exported, deported - now Korea wants to make it even harder for future adoptees to access their birth registrations. Why do not the Korean government just kill the kids born out of wedlock in the first place? I mean, they hate us so much. Wait... if they do, they cant make money off us. Yeah - adoptees are only ok according to the government if they can earn money on us. Otherwise we should just be hidden in foreign countries. Yes, foreign countries are to prefer to because the government pays support to domestic adopters, while they make money out off foreign adoptions. The fact that the Korean adoptee who has worked for almost a decade now to improve the situation in Korea, was laughed at because she has an accent when she is speaking Korean is just disgusting. What if all the KADs should laugh at each and every Korean whose English is poor? By the way - many KADs understand/speak 4-5 languages. How many Koreans do that? Each and every adopter and Korean who is not supporting the adoptees rights to all our papers should be ashamed of themselves. Ok, ok, I am not speechless. Now I am just waiting for a freaking Korean to laugh at all my grammatical errors in English. Only this summer I met a Korean MAN who stayed at my place - he made fun of my friends Korean. In the end of the week, I was very tempted to make fun of his English - but unlike stupid Korean men, Swedish raised women usually do not do that. But really, we should... next time.
