I am so geeking out with Google classroom.... not computer savvy or without access to technology in your room? Ive been there, and teach that way too, but love using Chrome Books. Heres what Ive been up to this month. Today all the kids were given their own recordings (America the Beautiful in G and then again in C) that they took as a vocal test over the past week. Now, they learned how to edit and turn in a document via classroom. This weekend they will be doing self-assessment using our vocal performance rubric. They have to not only select where they are in the rubric, but also find evidence to prove that in their recording. The kids are diggin it and I feel great about saving all that paper, PLUS, they actually are seeing the correlation of close reading to close listening. And we have a digital portfolio for them to reference as we continue our work developing their individual voices as we develop the choir. Next week we make goals for where they want to improve in 2 of the components to be reassessed in December and January. I am totally cool in my own mind. Thank you for listening.
