I am so happy that Sgt. Bergdahl has been released, but have real reservations that Obama traded him for the release of five very dangerous, high profile terrorists from Gitmo. Several things really bother me about this: 1) America has had a long-standing policy of not negotiating with the enemy for a reason.... it emboldens our enemies. We should not now be surprised to see more people kidnapped or taken hostage since this worked out so well for the terrorists. 2) A 30 day notification to Congress is required before releasing a prisoner... once again Obama has skirted the law and ignored the people that Americans have elected to represent them. 3) This soldier supposedly wandered away from a highly secure military compound and was taken captive and held for 5 years. Could be not have become radicalized during this time, and could be a danger here on our own soil? Does anyone think that any of these things were considered or is this just another publicity stunt to draw attention from some other very serious matters?
