I am so happy to say that Opera Depot has released--for the first time on Compact Disc--the 1960 performance of Luigi Dallapiccolas Il prigioniero, with Mr Treigle (in one of his greatest roles) in the name part, his friend Richard Cassilly, and Anne McKnight, conducted by the legendary Leopold Stokowski (one of Anderson Coopers stepfathers), from the New York City Opera. Yours Truly was instrumental in its release, and it is a magnificent performance of a magnificent opera, the most advanced work (twelve-tone) Treigle ever sang!
