I am so insanely proud of Rick Guidotti, whose GORGEOUS documentary, On Beauty, https://youtube/watch?v=3zOPXTusNik, had its NYC premiere at the DOC NYC film festival today. Rick was once a famous fashion photographer who traveled the globe shooting supermodels for fashion magazines ( Elle, Interview, Marie Claire), and also worked with Yves Saint Laurent and on ad campaigns. His TED talks are incredible. As Rick says, I was told every day who was beautiful...I was forced to work in certain parameters of the beauty standard. I was told this is the most amazing model of the moment, you have to photograph her... But it was crazy... Im an artist, I saw beauty everywhere! I didnt just see beauty on a magazine cover.) Through his organization, PositiveExposure.org, Rick goes everywhere now - Tanzania, Fiji, Panama, you name it - to photograph people born with differences. Imagine photo shoots with fans blowing, hair styling, make-up -- just like he did with Cindy Crawford and Kate Moss. He sees so much radiance, magic and beauty in people. Imagine what a world it would be if viewed through Ricks lens. (Also, On Beauty was made by Joanna Rudnick, the Emmy-nominated director of In the Family.)
