I am so proud of Gary. This morning at 8:15 we started off to the Cleveland Clinic to see the speech therapist and the two doctors that operated on Gary. The speech therapist showed Gary how to get some actual words out by covering the hole in his neck and talking!!! It comes out kind of robotic but he is talking. We had an actual conversation!!! The doctors remarked at how wonderful Gary looked, and how cool it was that he only needed the cane to walk. Last week he was in a wheelchair. Then on the way home he wanted a Mitchells milkshake so we got one. Peanut butter cup with vanilla for me and with chocolate for him.(as in my previous post it kicked my butt and I wanted a nap) But Gary was still energized by the accomplishment of talking so he wanted to go to John & Carols comic book store at Kamms Corners so off we went. He got his fix of comics and then we decided to go see the cat paintings I loaned to Rocky River Animal Hospital cause it was on the way home. We did and he even chit chatted with the receptionist there. He is not at all embarrassed, he is proud he can talk again!!! (and so am I, its been a quiet 3 weeks!) Then off to Target to get another humidifier so I dont have to carry the one we have up and down the stairs everyday, which was a pain in the butt. …and now we are home, its 4:00 and he is tired but happy he had such an eventful day. Im going to look up this cabbage recipe I saw on the chew the other day and make that for dinner along with some good sausage hotdogs…and of course sip a beer. All in all a good day full of accomplishments and getting things done!!! Yayyyyy Dumms!!
