I am so proud of my little girl. She has played a boys sport for three years, never letting anything get her down or break her spirit. This year, thanks to circumstances outside her control, she was forced to transfer from all her friends and teammates. She went from playing for a generally undefeated team to one thats pretty much just defeated. She hasnt complained once and still gives it her all. Today, she had to play against her former teammates. She had to see them in the new uniforms that she also had been waiting for for years. She had to contend with them gunning for her in a sad display of poor sportsmanship, saying things like Im gonna break your arm, kill her, and Im putting you out of the game, Gator Traitor. She had to play opposite coaches for whom she has and would gladly give blood, sweat, and tears. She never faltered. She played just the same as she always has. Of my kids, shes the only one with a dream rooted in athletics... yet shes the only one who hasnt given me crap about the move. She knows that her dreams of being the first female Hawg football star dont stand a snowballs chance if she plays ball for a school that never wins...but shes only said positive things about her new school and been such a buffer against her siblings resentment. I love you Tori Jo. I had to brag on you a bit and say thank you for being my cool, calm, collected kid.
