I am so proud to announce that the Association of Child Daycare Providers, Inc. has 8 full board members. The goal of the Association is to have a 12 member board of directors. We have a great and diverse board of two daycare providers, two community activists, a City Council, an urban gardener, a media personality and a fascinating young entrepreneur. There are other folks who play a very important role in serving families, children and providers who are a part of our association team and we have many exciting projects in motion. The CLIP program brought out a great group of folks who removed a TON (an actual ton, pictures below) of debris from the alley that serves the east side of Reach Street behind the daycare. This was courtesy of the wonderful folks at Council Woman Maria Quinonez-Sanchez and may have been supported by our police district, since I wrote them too about safety concerns with the alley. Our association has an ongoing initiative to bring Federal food program standards in line with our cultural and nutritional needs. Weve had several generous donations so we will be back to work this week. Our general contractor Julio Reyes was in the hospital and is now out and ready to get back to work. We are pretty much 80% finished and have a new volunteer on the construction team. Anyone who would like to come out and assist me with detail and design work, we are cooking with gas again and have supply money. I am not good with interior design so HELP!!!! LOL, folks with style, I need ya! I love you guys you are all so special and appreciated!!!
