I am so sick to death of pseudo intellectuals who think their ability to put together words that rhyme make them somehow more intelligent than 90% of the world and therefore the guardians of our collective social conscience. One of my FB friends today posted a stat basically saying that unless Robin Williams has done something for the Black community, we need to stop allowing mainstream media to distract us from more important matters. He had a few other friends echo his views. My uncle (my age) killed himself two years ago. Several members of my family (including myself) have considered suicide at one time or another. When anyone male or female, black or white, famous or unknown commits suicide I am affected. Robin Williams was a great comedian and an interesting man. I miss him as any fan missing a celebrity who died YESTERDAY. And I am pretty sure he did not time his death to take away from Michael Brown. And you know what else? Like you, I am somewhat intelligent so I was able to multi-task. I posted two different statuses about the moment of silence on Thursday, a stat about Robin, a happy stat AND a few jokes. You see that is what makes me a well-rounded individual and not just a stereotypical, condescending, wannabe militant. -Jeanette Milliean
