I am so sorry to tell you all that Wiggy has passed away. Over the last week he had declined drastically, and was loosing weight quickly. Last night his legs gave way twice, he was vomiting and had blood coming out of his bottom. We made the decision to rush Wiggy to the emergency night vets as it was not fair to keep him alive until the morning. Wiggy was cuddled by his foster Dad until after his final breaths. Sadly renal failure is a horrible disease and currently there is no cure. All you can do it manage the condition through medicine, diet and fluids. Wiggy had the best foster parents. Megan and Dan loved Wiggy, cared for him as if he was their own cat, gave him a lovely foster home where he was warm, fed and we made sure he had unlimited access to vet treatments, conventional medicine and in the last few weeks we had also tried natural treatments but unfortunately he of come into our care years too late. His kidneys were too inflamed and damaged. Megan said: Wiggy was the most docile, gentleman of a cat Ive ever known. All he wanted was food and cuddles and he got plenty of both while he was with us. We tried not to get attached because we knew we wouldnt have him forever but it was impossible not to. Im so pleased we could give him a loving home for his last few months. Thank you Megan and Dan for everything you did for Wiggy. Thank you to all of our supporters who donated towards his treatments, bought food off our amazon wish list for Wiggy or sent him well wishes. RIP Wiggy, run free sweet heart, no more suffering. We will never forget you, and will see you at Rainbow Bridge.
