I am so thankful that God does not remind me of my past sins. In - TopicsExpress

I am so thankful that God does not remind me of my past sins. In all the years I have been following Christ, not once has He brought up my past sins, guilt or shame. He is compassionate and loving. His Word reminds me that He knows how I am formed, simply from the dust of the ground. Looking around my home, I see the need to get out the Swiffer and dust the house once again. I am so thankful the Lord doesn’t see me as a piece of dust to simply scoop up and throw in the trash. So much of the world sees God that way – standing by with His giant Swiffer, waiting for one mistake to wipe them up and throw them out. How far from the truth! He is love, from everlasting to everlasting. There are hurting people all over the world who have had dirt thrown on them, just as we have. Christ followers, let’s stand ready to tell the world that while we don’t have it all together—God does. Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26) I pray this year is a year of possibilities, for me and for you. Realizing that we can’t do anything on our own, but with God we can do anything. He is the source of our strength. We are told to keep His covenant and to remember to obey His precepts. Let us not simply hear the Word in 2014, but act upon it. Let it be alive and vibrant in our lives, to be a light on a hill that cannot be hidden.
