I am sorry that this family felt humiliated, but... Why didnt they talk to the airline when booking their flights and find out what the options were for their special needs child? I deal with many people every day who call and write with questions about special requests when flying. As parents, these two had a responsibility to their child, to be prepared for the law in the sky. In Canada, its a regulation by Transport Canada that any child the age of 2 or older, has to be belted for safety There might be ways around it,(I dont know) but you would have to at least prepare the flight crew. People have got to start being culpable for themselves
