I am speaking to Sasols Young Engineers today. Heres a reflection. At 43 years old, I am one of the youngest South Africans to have attended an all white school. Soon after my Matric year in 1988, schools began to integrate. My first opportunity to vote was in the referendum that allowed FW de Klerk to enter a unity government creating a new South Africa. But these young graduates are amongst the first to be born free in that new South Africa. Theyve only ever lived in a new South with Internet and mobile phones. A generational moment.
