I am speechless. I received a letter notifying me that my department head of my major nominated me to a leadership honors society at Berkeley. The letter went on to say my position as the first ever blind disc jockey at KALX was both inspiring and the type of leadership they wish their members to embody, and that it shows I am not afraid to do something others have not. I am beyond humbled that my silly enjoyment of music seems to have a much more profound meaning to others. My mom taught me regardless of my vision loss that I could still do anything. I would maybe just have to fight harder and Bricktown stereotypes. But if I put the effort into it, I could do it. So thats what I try my best to do. Now I have to decide to accept this huge honor or not as it does require involvement. Truly blown away that I am even wanted for something like this.
