I am starting to be really scared of the stuff Im hearing about Israel and the anti-semitism that is beginning to be spouted because of it. Im also scared to bring it up, because I dont want to have it all directed at me. At the same time that seems all the more reason to say something. This war is terrible, the loss of life is atrocious and I hope it will end as soon as possible. That said, every time Israel tries to step out of Gaza they are promised destruction and attacks against them increase. How are they to move out and ensure safety for their country, not to mention relief for the trauma of regular bombs? That is not an option for peace. They may have more sophisticated weaponry, but why should that mean they dont get to defend themselves against the attacks theyre facing? Any country would. I hope Gaza can have a leadership that has more humanitarian goals than Hamas and the fighting can stop. I dont know how Israel should be able to end it in the meantime though.
