I am still amazed at how there are aspects of the Sami that resemble the Native American culture. The sound of this yoik is an example. The clothing and the fact that they both utilized Teepees during the nomadic phases of their lives, and have depended on herd animal husbandry to survive (reindeer for the Sami and bison for some tribes of Native Americans) and their shamanic religious followings seem to be similar. So, I am going to take a rather controlled look at it all. And, I did tell Sophia that I would remind folks of her people. So, for now, enough postings about the Sami....but I will be knee deep in my examinations of their interesting culture.
