I am still in shock as I am watching MLB network heap love on the American League Champion Kansas City Royals, breaking down the style, the fire, the trust in each other that the players have. They are talking about small ball, smart ball, and the goofy manager. The thing is they are bearing down this World Series club- pointing out their flaws- yet admiring their strengths and the selfless way in which they embrace them...i have heard championship teams be analyzed, i have analyzed them and for 30 years= longer than that really I have done the same for the KC Royals- but even in 85 I have never heard this much national love, not since Brett hit .390 or hit a Pine-tar Home run...that is what is crazy...the sports talking heads are talking about the Royals like my boss, Tim and I every summer, or like with my cousins Lance Bryan and his brother Bryan Jeremy Bryan or my ancient but affable former business partner, and Al-Cow-ens-Steve- Balboni-Mouse- Stash--ioed-- friend- Todd Soden. The breakdowns and the outpouring of lovethey remind me of many long suffering Royal fans With whom- I have argued and lamented- I dont want to leave out Hilary Morton or Jason Cox or Jason Rowland or Jason and Roxie Mitchell oh yeah Hilary Mortons old man ( his name is Jason too). R Troy Hirsch and Dylan Dza Walker Dodger fan, Matthew Gaus. my old -school pal and (ahem) Cardinal an Kevin W. Pennock; my old infield mate, guitar heroand father Matt Mozier , Original Raindog: Counselor; Mr. Scott McCracken, Always keeping it real, with a steady beat and a Spanish translation;Senor Paul Rosen, journalist and rock Stars Tom and Ginger Meagher, Snappy and Girt at The Pool Room, all the Rain-dogs, after every game. I just cannot grasp that all of America is talking about the Royals..... I mean everybody is talking about the Cinderella Story of the Kansas City Royals.
