I am stoked for my daughter Kelsey. In yesterdays mail, she found an envelope addressed to her from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). She didnt think much of it...but when she opened it...inside...she found a terrific surprise - that she was the recipient of IUPs Provosts Scholar award for Superior Academic Performance!!! IUP recognizes academic achievement through Dean’s Lists, Provost’s Scholars, and graduation honors. Provost’s Scholars are recognized annually. At the start of the Fall semester, any undergraduate student who is a current junior with a minimum of 45 credits earned (completed, graded) at IUP, has a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and has not have received this award previously (recognition is given only once)...is eligible. Kelseys cumulative GPA is 3.9. I want to make a special point here. Kelsey has to work her rear end off. Shes had to grind, claw, and scratch her way through college. Shes incredibly bright...but the reason shes had such great success has little to do with her intellect. Shes got a system in place that works for her and she sticks with her system. Shes applied a consistent effort over three years and is seeing the results. Shes been through good times, bad times, and even worse times...but shes never quit...never given up...and ever succumbed to any of the negative. She goes about her business quietly and doesnt boast. Shes a great example to our children...and quite frankly...to me. I want to be just like her when I grow up.
