I am such a nerd - Finalizing my concept paper for my dissertation - TopicsExpress

I am such a nerd - Finalizing my concept paper for my dissertation tonight and tomorrow - and am super excited about doing so!!!! Ive done battle with myself over the direction I wanted to go - redid this danged thing three different times, but prayed about it - and think Im good to go! That is, until my dissertation chair and committee members read it and get back to me with their feedback. That said, I know I have a few friends on my facebook page that are parents/family members of someone with Autism. That said - would be you be willing to give someone access to your childs educational records in order to allow that person (me) to write a dissertation that details teaching methods, behaviors, etc., of teachers that strengthen (and diminish) the achievement of students with Autism? I am envisioning a research project that, while detailing testing data showing growth/no growth, would also include input from both parents and teachers of their experience with children with Autism - what has worked, what hasnt worked. I dont intend to criticize schools or teachers or parents - I intend to provide research that demonstrates an existing lack of understanding of the nature of autism, and that also provides research that can strengthen that understanding. I know my committee is going to tell me gaining access to the educational records of ten students with Autism is unrealistic - so Id like to be able to combat that!! All information will be confidential. No one will be able to identify individual schools, and most certainly not individual children. I would be the only one who knows who the ten children of my study are. So, let me know your thoughts on that (via private message if you want). AND - if youd like to give me information on what youd like my study to include, let me know. Im sure Ill have edits from my committee, so could make those adjustments. AND, if you are a teacher of a student with Autism and have information you wish you would have had, let me know that as well. I want to make a positive difference in the lives of children with Autism and their families, as well as the teachers appointed to serve them.
