I am sure many if not all of you saw Noels updates on our trip. We rented a car and visited her parents in Mississippi. Enjoyed visiting with them for Christmas. Had some catfish at Jerrys catfish house in Florence MS. Showed her Dad how to use Roku (could be interesting lol). Then we drove to Gulfport MS and spent the night at Harrahs casino. We drove around a bit and you could still see a lot of damage from Katrina....foundations where homes were etc. I can see what lures people to build ther, it was so beautiful and had a relaxing feel to the area. I could envision myself sitting on one of those huge porches many of the houses have sipping a Jack Daniels or a mint julep lol. Then we went to Nw Orleans and spent most the day in the French Quarter.......wow.....a definite bucket list item for those who have never been there. We ate alligator and I had a jambalaya that was outstanding....I drank a Big Ass Beer...that I bought from a Big ass black guy sitting on a little stool holding a sign that said Big Ass Beer.lol. We got to see all the football fan from Ohio State and Alabama because the sugar bowl was there on the 1st. (roll tide......there is always next year). Then we spent a day driving a bayou.......we saw ship wrecks and homes that we thought were abandoned.....except there was a light on inside 8-0 . Then we spent a couple of hours on Grand Isle.......there was an 18 mile long bridge to get there.....and the houses are all 15 to 20 feet in the air. It is easy to sit here in Minnesota and think why would anyone build there.....hurricanes etc After visiting I an say I know exactly why they build there........gorgeous.
