I am sure that most have heard or read how Jesus walked on water, but may not realize that he wasnt the only one -- Peter walked on water too--although for a brief moment. This highlights the importance of faith --not religion or any particular religious affiliation. Read Matthew 14:22-32 for yourself. There are important events that took place here that can give us insight as to what God honors, and secondly, what we can achieve when we believe. Miracles can happen when you step out on Gods word. A synopsis of the chapter tells us that the disciples were in the ship out to sea at a time when there were strong winds and waves. After praying in the mountain, Jesus came walking on the water to them. Understandably, they were afraid --supposing he was a ghost. Jesus spoke immediately to them ...be not afraid. Peter, however, had enough faith to ask Jesus to bid him to come to him on the water. That in itself is a miracle..lol! How many of us would walk out on water to meet someone -- knowing in our carnal minds, we would sink? However, Peter defied the law of gravity and trusted God enough at his word. Jesus told Peter, Come. Peter got out of the boat and begin to walk on water to go to Jesus. Only until Peter took his eyes off of the word and began to fear, did he sink. Jesus asked him, Why did you doubt? The same applies to us today. Whatever God has spoken to you in his word, promised, instructed you to do or achieve, step out on it --dont doubt! Some said we could not defy the law of gravity, but we do it every day -- think about airplanes and helicopters, etc. Im sure at some point, humans never believed that we could fly as birds do. We see here that God honored Peters faith. Even with the little faith he had, he achieved what was thought to be impossible! The enemy of faith is doubt. Even if you have a little faith, God can work with it until it grows. Be blessed and meditate!
