I am terribly and deeply worried and concerned about my adopted country, the Philippines, which has been hit by one disaster after another this year. This time, it was by the largest and most powerful typhoon in recorded history with winds approaching 200 mph and a 20 foot high wall of water. The vast majority of homes in the Philippines are shakey at best and the sights of what this storm did to them is heart breaking. Through Rotary we are all banding together to aid the hard hit central Visaya area of the Philippines, which is still recovering from a major earthquake, I urge everyone to send money to the Red Cross or to their local Rotary clubs for use in the reconstruction effort. Please DO NOT send clothes or food as storage facilities in the area are non-existent. Money sent tot he correct organization will do wonders. Cheers, DLR
