I am thankful for all of the teachers I have had in the church, and one in particular has gone above and beyond in helping me to become a stronger Christian. He not only helped me learn a lot from the Bible, but the life he leads has taught me volumes by observing the way He serves the Shepherd and feeds His lambs. Tom Dennis doesnt have a Facebook account, but many of my friends know and love him as I do. I talked to Tom and his wife, Ann, on the phone this week and enjoyed a pleasant conversation about times we have spent together. My spirits were uplifted tonight when I received a letter from him in the mail which contained this poem - a poem he wrote right after we were done with our phone call. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do, knowing that the writer of this prose has always lived for Heaven and encouraged the rest of us to do the same. May the Lord help us all to have one of those mansions the Lord has promised those of us who are faithful until the end! :-) The Place I am going to Thomas D. Dennis I’m going to a place where there is no pain, Where we won’t need wheelchairs and we won’t need canes. We’ll not need glasses or a hearing aid, Where our strength and vitality never will fade. There will be no more cancer or any other disease. We won’t need to lock doors, so we won’t need house keys. There will be no sorrows; there will be no tears; There will be no threats; there will be no fears. No lying, no hatred, no violence, no war. All things will be different than they were before. For where I am going all will be love; All will be peace in heaven above. We’ll share in that city of glory and peace When we from these earth forms have had our release.
