I am thankful for the 10,000 plus meals that my bride has made me in over 36 years of marriage. (yes, I did the math). But I dont remember the majority of them. I know they were made with love and they provided nourishment, but a vast majority of them are no where to be found in my memory. I have my favorites, the regulars, but many are gone from memory. Well, when it comes to words, people often forget the brilliant things you say :). I have probably preached or taught Gods word on over 6000 occasions, (yes, I did the math)... and some of those messages are gone from the thinking when asked about them on the very same Sunday afternoon, much less years down the road. But each time I have been under the hearing of the Word, and each time I have studied and shared the word; I trust that they all have provided nourishment to the soul and some small and large changes, used by the Spirit in our lives. Timothy 3:16 tell us that All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness... Profitable. Nourishing. Provided in love. The positive change agent used by God. We wouldnt want to go too long without a meal so why would we chose to go without spiritual nourishment? Oh, and Honey... Thanks for all of those wonderful meals; the majority of which were brilliant. :)
