I am the mother of a Big Red football player. I would like you to know that he works daily 3 to 4 hours a day on top of his very difficult school schedule. Some mornings getting up at 5:30 AM to get a workout in before school. He also volunteers in his community, attends church and works. This is the life of just one of the players. There ate many more like him. He plays for God, love of the game and you! He is not paid one red cent. He is paid with hearing the crowd on Friday night. I will say it is hard to cheer when they are losing but I can say there is still first downs and completed passes and so much more. It is so hurtful to a mom who watches her son ice his body daily for you and then to hear the negative yells from the stands. PLEASE quit yelling negativity. They hear you yell put the JV in and such and the loudest negative cheer is silence. Give these boys your support and cheer them on regardless of the coaches or the score. I apologize if this is offensive but I am a mom who was offended Friday night.
