I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in Me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing. - John 15:5 (NIV) Fruitfulness - When we have a relationship with Jesus Christ, something happens in our lives. We are new creatures and we have whole new lives ahead of us. We are forgiven and saved! We have new purpose and goals. We have new home in heaven. Our lives grow and keep growing spiritually, mentally, emotionally, physically, and financially. That is fruitfulness. So what happens if we are not fruitful? Or are we fruitful? Try this test - compare your life from last year to today. Is there any difference now than last year? Or is everything still the same as last year? If there is nothing new or nothing changes, our lives have become stagnant and we are being unfruitful. Jesus warned us in the above verse that if we live our lives without Him, we will not be fruitful and we will not be successful in anything without Him. Jesus is the vine and we are His branches, in other words, we need Him in our lives to be fruitful!!! If we stay with Jesus and live in His word, we will be very fruitful. Our lives need to grow constantly and if we find our lives have stopped growing, we need to find the source of the problem that has hindered our growth. Our lives may need to be pruned and oftentimes pruning can be very painful but it produces more growth and more fruitful. When we go through difficult and painful times, it is when God is doing His pruning time on us to make us more fruitful in our lives. So how can we be fruitful? Read His Word daily and learn His ways in everything we do. Keep on praying, not just for ourselves but for other people. Seek new opportunities to improve our lives such as setting new goals, new challenges, career changes, new jobs, etc. Let our lives be the light of the world and be the stars for Jesus Christ!!! AMEN!
