I am thinking of giving up breeding full stop. I have had talks with someone who has problems with their almost 2 yr old pup they got from me. I know what I breed, I know how to raise them to have a very well balanced dog. This person somewhere along owning him has hurt the dog who now in return will attack his daddy. I am heart broken. The signs he talks about shows this dog has been hurt by him and him alone. They love this dog and wont give him back and are willing to spend what it take to fix the problem. Money cant always fix what has been done. I realize what I breed and what I can breed in the future through mapping out lines, dogs going back 10 generations, to get what security/home protection people want for real, but I wonder is there enough good people out there to take what I have and do the right thing with it. Many claim they are breeding it but have no idea what they are doing, without doing the study going back generation after generation, you might only get 1 or 2 dogs in a litter. I expect the whole litter to be what I say it will be and better. Which in turn means there is no waste. Out of the 3 males I sold, 1 got ruin because the owner/breeder didnt monitor his up bringing and he damaged his elbow, which in turn left a piece of bone floating which left has caused ED, all other limbs came up 0,0,0. This other one has been given a beating, they say not, but the signs show differently, they wont take their money back, they love him and made a mistake and will do all they can to fix it. Until then daddy has to be carful around his dog. Were the one person I was worried about, asked many questions and was always on the phone to me and has a dog his local police want and are wanting pups from him, him tuning out to be a bad boy. Though he brought up his dog with respect and consideration and understanding, and got all and more of what I told him he had. Which leaves me here wondering, is all the effort I go to, to make these dogs worth it knowing once they leave I have no more control over them and when they are in trouble I have no claim to take them back an have to sit here and beat myself up. I cant beleive I am going through this, my heart has been ripped out my chest. The people will do all they can to fix it, but sadly they wont be honest and tell me what was done, but I do know the dog gets it good, has the best home other then the one mistake daddy did when he was growing up. What should I do, any ideas. My dogs are serrious dogs, no training needed to bite and protect, they are family loving if not hurt badly and will die to save their pack. They are trainable but naughty growing up, but arent we all until we learn. This is not what I want to be going through but have been for the last couple of days. Still working on finding the right person to help them.
