I am thoroughly pxxxxd off with British Gas. I sent in actual electricity meter readings on 25 October via their website, in due time for them to prepare a monthly bill and then asked for a copy of it also via their website, filling in all the details requested . No email acknowledgement of the submission, no email or copy of the bill, even a week later. Instead all I got was a letter from an apparently authorised third party demanding a meter reading by phone or letter at my cost, or they would conduct a forced physical inspection of the meter with a view to removing the meter from empty premises. OFGEM is not looking into this and is simply a toothless tiger imho. Any lawyer out there who would take on this case of illegal non provision of information and harrassment? At the same time I get an enormous but entirely erroneous bill of over a grand, and British Gas then took £300 quid from my account by direct debit. I can imagine some poor pensioners who would be made seriously anxious and stressed, not to mention financially embarrassed, by such cavalier treatment. May be some lawyer could gruntle me? I am presently very disgruntled!
