I am totally against the idea of a married/engaged someone having a best friend from the other gender ( hanging together all the time, call each other all of the time, go to places together, ...etc). I am not talking here about casual friends, colleagues, ... etc because i am okay with that, as long as there is mutual trust, self respect and faithfulness. I find the idea of having a best friend from the other gender for a person already in a serious relationship with someone odd and suspicious. It is prohibited in Islam ولا متخذات أخدان . And i think it is also prohibited in Christianity. Need some feedback from my Christian friends here. I think it is unaccepted in all religions and decent societies. Better be a best friend to the one you are married/engaged to !
