I am truly humbled and encouraged by the outpouring of support for our campaign, but we are not done. This is your chance to get involved and have a voice in your local courts - YOUR courts. From now through election night, remind your friends, family members, neighbors, and co-workers of their duty, their obligation, to vote. Do it every day. Too much blood has been shed, too much degradation has been suffered, too much fear has been overcome from the Boston Tea Party to the Civil Rights Act, for you, yes YOU, to not vote. So yes, you are OBLIGATED to vote. Your vote is your equalizer. Your vote is how you let YOUR GOVERNMENT know that you matter, and you are watching. Even if your candidate doesnt win, when you vote others know they cannot take you for granted. They know they must consider you, because you vote, YOU COUNT. To the contrary, when you dont vote, the system fails. The elected leaders, knowing that you either arent watching or dont care enough to vote, can do as they please. They get to skirt accountability and become self-centered, looking out more for themselves than for you - the citizen. If you want to make Tarrant County a better place, Texas a better place, and our nation a better place, then YOU MUST VOTE! Finally, it is YOUR duty to be informed. In this day, there is simply no excuse for not being informed. If you dont get the paper, search the internet. If you dont have a computer, use your phone. If you dont have a phone go to the library. If you cant get to a library, ask someone you know and trust. By any means necessary get informed! I try to make getting to know me easy for you. I am in the Star-Telegrams Voters Guide in the local section. I am in the League of Women Voters Voters guide. I show up where I am invited. I have also been as candid and transparent as I can be on my website. If you havent voted yet, do your duty - get informed and go vote. Take a look at Leon.
