I am trying an experiment. I have a storage unit that, as some of you know, was robbed a few years ago. I still have a lot of stuff in there, but it was left a disaster. I want to get rid of everything, but its so overwhelming to think about clearing and cleaning it up. I donated a lot of the items already to a local animal rescue group. I still have a bunch of stuff left. So, here is the experiment. I posted on Craigslist offering to let anyone willing to come on Sunday and help me clean, clear and organize this unit to have first shot of all the things in it that we dont want. Theres probably $300 or more worth of stuff for someone. I wasnt sure anyone would be willing to work in exchange for items, but guess what? Nearly 20 people so far have expressed interest in less than 24 hours. Next step was to reply to them with details. They need to acknowledge that theyll be doing physical labor in exchange. They have to be there at a certain time. If they are more than 30 minutes late the next person in line will get a shot at the items. I will choose 2 people. One for the initial clean, clear and get stuff. Then, anything they do not want can be picked up by the second person who wont need to clean anything, just come get whats left. If this works I will be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO happy!!!!
