I am trying my best to hold out against the usual time allocated - TopicsExpress

I am trying my best to hold out against the usual time allocated for patient visits. I see my folks for 40-min MIN and usually for about 1-hr for first time patients. I know that is NOT the norm, nor am I naïve to think I can continue this within the Insurance accepting model I am currently involved. Insurance will not reimburse me for the extra time I spend w/ my patients, so at some point something has to give. Can I continue to see my patients for an hour? I really want to as I am into preventive and restorative medicine. Will the wait time to be seen come to 3 to 6 months? The current model for this practice may not allow for timely follow up for patients who need attention. Time will tell.
