I am trying to find pictures from when I was a child and was taken back stage to meet the elephants at Ringling Bros at Madison Square Garden. I was probably 3 or 4 years old. They were chained to a wall, line up, swaying back and forth. I FREAKED OUT! That was my very first direct action. I yelled that the elephants were suffering and to let them go. I knew at that moment that it was wrong. I screamed and cried and kicked as I was dragged out of the area. That was the last time we ever went to the circus. I can close my eyes now and hear them, feel them..yes I was that close and smell them. My love for these beings has been with me an entire lifetime and I hope that before I die that they are all free. Elephants are love
