I am trying to stay positive, but I feel I need to share this, it may save a life...on Friday Oct 31st/Halloween my father went to Mercy SW Hospital, thinking he had a stroke, they were unable to give him a MRI because his shoulders were too broad for him to fit in the tiny MRI tunnel (he is 6 foot 3inches tall)! Instead of them transporting him to a facility that had a bigger more modern machine they just did an ultrasound on his neck & found a clogged artery!!! Long story short after 48 hours they released him with no restrictions & instructions to take over the counter pills for dizziness & to see his general Dr on Monday. Gen Dr wanted him to see a heart specialist, the cardiologist said his heart is good & told him to see what the neurologist says, but he said he predicts the neruo will say he has Vestibular Neurontis/vertigo. Dad saw the neurologist this past Saturday & hes pretty sure dad had a stroke! So here he waits again for an MRI-that shouldve been done 19 days ago!!!! My father drove himself to Mercy SW because its close to his house , & I know sometimes its out ones control, but please if you or someone you love has or suspects to have heart/artery problems, please have them go to a hospital that specializes in heart conditions/operations like San Joaquin, The Heart Hospital, or even KMC (where they have the best trauma Drs/ access to specialist.)Better yet, just call 911!! Life is too short! I am worried about my dad, prayers are appreciated.
