I am typically on the forefront of all the new TV shows because Ive said it since 2008--the level of creativity and the story you can tell in a typical season (12 episodes) is much more enthralling and descriptive than cramming a story into 2-3 hour movie. I was the first to introduce well over 100 of you to Breaking Bad. I watched the first episode on January something 2008 and wrote on Myspace how this would be the best TV show ever. Maybe it is, but it is definitely up there. I have since introduced people to a few canceled shows that were amazing: Dark Blue, Leverage, and the unfairly canceled Breakout Kings on A&E. Luckily for us the others I picked have been highly successful: Eastbound & Down, Elementary, Justified, Perception, Shameless, Ray Donovan, The Mentalist, Damages, and recently Ive touted The Blacklist as one of the best hours of TV you can watch. It returns for season 2 in September. And last summer I sat in my room in June nursing a horrible hangover and I gave Orange Is the New Black a try because I heard about the book. I watched the whole season in two nights and recommended it to all my TV aficionados and now when I see everybody so excited about OITNB Season 2, I smile. People are catching on to good programming and networks are renewing amazing shows. This gives me an entertainment boner.
